Getting even more bold and creative, the host could use these same flourishes to spell out fun phrases such as “Good Lordy, he/she is forty,” “Forty and Fabulous,” “Forty and Flirty,” etc. Or he/she could pick up plastic cake toppers emblazoned with these phrases.
Beyond decorating individual cupcakes, the host could line or stack the cakes up in a ‘40’ or ‘forty’ formation; or even venture to make exactly 40 cupcakes for the party. Additional party supplies—such as balloons and balloon columns, drinking mugs, party plates, tulle or plastic banners, and other items emblazoned with the number ’40’—could come in handy as well.
