Aileen cupcakes are supposed to be scary however, these little aliens cute and, fun to make. Once these cupcakes are created head on over and purchase the rest of the party supplies to create a perfect alien birthday party that any child will love.
Before beginning to build these alien cupcakes, lets assemble the following items: 24 Cupcakes-These should be baked in foil liners to add a more realistic touch, vanilla frosting, neon green food coloring, 12 marshmallows, 24 plain doughnut holes, 48 chocolate covered sunflower seeds, black licorice that has been cut into 1in pieces, 48 clear plastic drinking glasses. Once the ingredients it is time to begin assembly.
To begin building the alien cupcakes ting the vanilla frosting with the neon green food coloring. Also take the marshmallows and cut them in half by using a pair of scissors.
In the next stage of building the alien cupcakes spread a thin layer of the green frosting over the top of the cupcake then, attach a half marshmallow in the center with the cut side Next, take the doughnut hole and place that on top of the marshmallow use the green frosting to hold secure. Take more of the green frosting and spread over the marshmallow and doughnut to fill in any holes and make smooth. Place the assembled cupcakes in the freezer for 15 minutes.
While your alien cupcakes are chilling out it is time to start the next stage. This stage needs to be done in stages and, needs to be followed closely. Take 1 cup of the green frosting and place into a glass measuring cup. Heat this frosting in the microwave in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. No longer than 15 until the frosting becomes the consistency of whipped cream.
Now take the alien cupcakes (holding them by tin liner) and dip them one at a time into the frosting just to the top of the liner. Hold the cupcake over the bowl to allow any excess frosting to drip off. Place on a cookie sheet and allow cooling. Return the frosting to microwave as needed to keep the consistency.
The final process of the alien cupcakes would be to put on their face. Take the chocolate sunflower seeds and press them into the cupcake with the pointed corners facing each other to form the eyes of the alien. Make 2 holes at the top of the alien by using a toothpick and place a piece of licorice into each hole. This will create the antennas of the alien.
Finally take your alien cupcake and place it in the bottom of a clear class and place another cup onto the top. This will make your alien look like it is in their space ship.
