The following items will be needed for your sugar cookie recipe: 3 cups of all purpose flour, 2 eggs, 1 ½ cups of sugar, 1 cup softened margarine or butter, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon baking powder. Preheat your oven to 375° for twenty minutes prior to cooking. Then mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Then mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter together. After this has been mixed, add the dry ingredients and mix for approximately 2 minutes or until the batter is completely mixed. Next, on a clean countertop or on wax paper (sprinkled with flour) roll out the cookie mixture. Then take animal shape cookie cutters and cut out cookies. Place this on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, checking often to avoid burning. Once the cookies have been baked, allow them to cool and then decorate the animals with decorative icing, candies and raisins. These cookies will be a perfect snack for your Animal Party.
