Young fans of basketball will love a theme party of the game they love with homemade centerpieces, decorations and party favors Include as many homemade party decorations as possible. Not only will making handmade basketball decorations save on the party budget but homemade party decorations are incredibly fun to make. Parents who have not have an opportunity to show how creative they are may want to choose a theme party to unveil their artistic abilities.
A simple handmade basketball centerpiece any young fan of the game loves include cutting out the top of a basketball and inserting Mylar paper, craft sticks with cutouts, curling ribbon, and pennants. Cut about 1/3 off the top of the basketball. Insert the Styrofoam or craft foam inside the basketball. Make various homemade cut outs of basketball images and silhouettes. Tape or glue the cut outs to craft sticks and insert into the craft forma or Styrofoam. Once the craft sticks are in place add the Mylar paper. If the celebrant has a favorite team or specific player use the players teams colors. Drape a basketball net around the centerpiece along with mini plastic basketballs around the centerpiece. Place the centerpiece on a piece of hardwood (to resemble a basketball court). Add homemade cookies in made to look like basketballs with the celebrant’s favorite player’s number and name with cookie icing. Homemade cookies also make for wonderful party favor take home treats. Use orange edible cookie glitter to give the cookies a nice sparkle.
