Bat Mitzvah Centerpieces
A Bat Mitzvah is far more than a party, it’s a beautiful milestone in the life of a young Jewish woman; and no Bat Mitzvah celebration is complete without a striking handmade centerpiece.
Of course, a homemade centerpiece for a Bat Mitzvah can be just as tasty as it is striking. At the center of the party table, the host could form a glittering Star of David with mints or chocolate kisses (or, even more appropriate, chocolate stars) covered in gold or silver foil, or a Menorah symbol with lines of gold-frosted cupcakes or even pieces of moist, golden brown homemade bread. Or she could present an oversized milk chocolate Draedel (or, for that matter, a chocolate Draedel cake) coated in icing of blue and silver or food coloring in these same shades.
Also keep in mind though that a Bat Mitzvah, aside from being a religious celebration, should be a distinctly feminine occasion; that is why all handmade centerpieces for a Bat Mitzvah should be as lovely and decorative as possible. An oversized draedel, Menorah or Star of David made from balsa wood or ceramic and painted in water colors or acrylics would make an ideal centerpiece; especially if placed on a gleaming silver tray and surrounded by bluebell flowers, azure azaleas and other florals in blue hues.
Real versions of these Jewish symbols could be handed out as party supplies at a Bat Mitzvah, though again in a feminized form. Guests would love to take home rings, lapel pins, earrings and lip gloss necklaces that bear symbols in the shape of draedels and Stars of David, as mementos of a beautiful experience.
