BBQ parties and cupcakes aren't something that are usually put together, especially since the idea of a BBQ is to cook all the good on an outside grill, but why not change that tradition and bake some wonderfully scrumptious cupcakes to go with your perfect outdoors BBQ party?
When you think of a BBQ, you think of sun and cool drinks and burgers and hot dogs, and it's not unusual to keep cupcakes within a general theme of a party, so you could think about decorating your cupcakes with summery edible decorations, icing that resembles the food you're eating, or even making your cupcakes taste like the drinks you're going to be serving!
Alternatively, you can use your imagination to its fullest and be really creative when it comes to making cupcakes for your BBQ. While you're buying in your party supplies, look for inspiration and ideas that could be a big hit for your cupcakes. How about icing the names of those attending onto different cupcakes? You could go for a camping theme for your whole party and make cupcakes that have marshmallows in them – kids will especially love that!
You could go one step further, of course – how about letting people decorate their own BBQ cupcakes? You could buy icing in tubes, little decorations such as stars, sugar paper, edible glitter, and other decorations, and make a fun game out of it by including everyone attending in a gathering of cupcake decorations! Not only will it provide entertainment, but it'll bring everyone together and become a good talking point.
Just because a BBQ and cupcakes aren't necessarily two things that pop into your mind that go together, doesn't mean they shouldn't be put together – you just need to use your imagination and make it as fun as the rest of the day!
