Pre-schoolers love Blues Clues, because it gives them a chance to interact with the TV series, characters, and plot. This means that there are many games that can be played using words, colors, and clues.

The host might want to choose a plot, or even a fairy tale that all of the children already know. Then make a gelatin mold that will contain clues to the story. For instance, for Red Riding Hood, some of the clues might be “wolf,” “red cape”, “woods,” and so on. The clues can be inserted in small plastic eggs or balls that open up and the clue is written on them. Just before the gelatin sets, be sure to place the eggs or balls throughout the mold. If you can find the mold of Blue, or another large dog, that would be great. Then all you need to do is use blue food coloring to make the kids believe that it is a replica of Blue.

As the gelatin is being served, each of the kids will have one clue to open up and start guessing what the fairy tale is. The one who guesses it first wins. Be sure to have a party prize that ha something to do with Blue, like a stuffed animal, for the winner.

Of course, the other pre-schoolers will want something, too. So, have some party favors to give out, as well as making one of the clues a prize in itself.
