It is easier to discuss a great book when eating simple foods instead of big gourmet meals. Crab dip is perfect to serve at a book party because it is very simple to eat, and can be enjoyed while socializing with friends.

Making crab dip for your next book party is very easy using the following recipe.
11 ounces of softened cream cheese
1 small finely chopped onion
5 Tablespoons mayonnaise
12 Ounces of flaked crabmeat
1/8 Teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Pound loaf round and crusty Italian bread
Mix cream cheese, onion, mayonnaise, crabmeat, garlic, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl until well blended. Place in a small baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut a hole in the middle of the bread to make a bread bowl. Take the bread that you cut out of the middle of the loaf and cut it into small pieces to be used for dipping. Place the crab dip in the middle of the bread bowl. Place the filled bread bowl and the small pieces of bread on a cookie sheet. Bake for another 10 minutes. Place the bread bowl and dipping pieces on a platter to serve to your guests.

A book party is a great idea for a kid’s party and this could have sub theme of one of many kids’ books like Charlottes Web, Mother Goose, Dr. Seuss or Nancy Drew.
