Keeping in regular contact with a manager or boss is vital as they are the people you need to impress with your corporate cupcakes, otherwise it could all end in disaster. Make sure you understand completely what they are looking for and what the expect, and don't be scared to ask them questions or to reiterate directions and ideas. It is incredibly important that your cupcakes remain professional and business-like, not flowery or overly decorated. Unless, of course, the manager or boss asks for this!
If, however, you choose to work on your own initiative (maybe you're making corporate cupcakes for an event that you personally are attending), then you should know what the company is like, what they do and who works for them. With all this in mind, it should be easy enough to seal the deal with your wonderful cupcakes.
