One of the greatest memories for a lot of different people of the eighties would be the great cartoons. Therefore, make a variety of different eighties style cupcakes dedicated to all of the great cartoons that were out in the eighties. Cartoons such as Rainbow Brite, and the Smurfs are some of the most common.
Smurf cupcakes are easy to make and make a great symbol to the eighties style cupcake. To begin, frost the cupcakes with a light blue frosting. The frosting can be made by taking white frosting and adding about 2 drops of blue food coloring. Once the cupcakes are frosted take blue candy sugar and sprinkle over the top.
For the body of the Smurf eighties style cupcake you will need marshmallows. For the bottom half take a marshmallow and cut it in half and then in half again to create the legs. Take part of the cut marshmallow and stretch it widthwise to create the top of the Smurfs pants. Next take another marshmallow and smash it till it resembles the shape of a shirt then frost it with blue frosting. Place the shirt on top of the bottom half of the Smurf. Finally, take another marshmallow and create a hat to place on top the Smurf body.
