An eighties party should be as colorful and fun as the decade itself; and should feature homemade centerpieces that are equally festive.
A handmade centerpiece for an Eighties party should include popular symbols and emblems typically associated with the decade of fun. These could include paper, plastic, paper mache or wood-carved versions of Rubik’s Cubes and ‘banana style’ sunglasses as well as rainbow-colored headbands and leg warmers, plus miniature posters of popular 80s musical acts such as Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Go Gos and Prince.
An edible version of any of these Eighties symbols might make for another ‘totally rad’ homemade centerpiece. A host could make a fun Rubik’s Cube cake using any flavor cake and thick butter cream icing. Each squared piece could bear a different color; together, all these colorful pieces could form the perfect likeness of a Rubik’s Cube.
