1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 (1-ounce) squares of unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
To start, heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an eight-inch square baking pan and dust lightly with flour. Set aside. Combine the flour and salt in a bowl and set aside. Melt the chocolate and butter in a saucepan on low heat. Remove from heat and add the sugar. Add eggs one at a time, stirring until blended. Mix in vanilla. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients. Mix in nuts. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake brownies for 45 minutes or you make an imprint with your finger when touching the top. Cut into squares while they're still warm.
This recipe makes 16 brownies but you can adjust the size to make as many or as few as you need. They can also be served with whipped cream or ice cream. Enjoy!
