Sugar cookies are a fun interactive treat for guests at a fairy princess party. To make the cookies, you need:

5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ cups (3 sticks) softened butter
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and softened butter. Add eggs, one at a time and mixing until smooth after each addition. Add vanilla extract. Slowly add the flour and the baking powder. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour and no longer than eight hours (overnight). Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly flour a surface and roll the dough out ¼ to ½ inches thick. Use a fairy or princess cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place the shapes on an ungreased cookie sheet about one inch apart. Bake for six to eight minutes and cool completely before serving.

Now this is the fun part! Set up a work station for the little princesses. Provide pink, white, blue, and other colored frosting, along with sprinkles, candies and other decorations. Your party guests can now decorate the ballerina cookies. Popsicle sticks are good for spreading the icing. When they're done decorating, they can eat their fairy princess cookies right away or take their cookies home in plastic containers.
