Fathers Day is a great time to consider making some fantastic cupcakes to celebrate everything that your dad has done for you and all you're thankful for. Whether he's helped you with school, money, friends, love, life, or anything in between, you know that your dad means the world to you, and the very least he deserves is some fantastic cupcakes that will really let him know what he means to you. If you're holding a whole party in honor of your dad, don't forget your party supplies as well as your cupcakes! But if you just want to show him that you care, there are a number of things you can do with your cupcakes to show that you truly mean it.
How about decorating your Fathers Day cupcakes with things that you know your dad likes? It could be cars, boats, golf, running, football, clothes, even his favorite television programmes or music artists, you can decorate your cupcakes with just about anything. You could also make your cupcakes his favorite color, or flavor. A really fun recipe is one for gooey cupcakes – read on to get the recipe!
For your Fathers Day cupcakes, you will need: Your favorite cupcake recipe, blue food coloring, 6oz of blue gelatin and blue decorating icing. Of course, you can use any color!
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line 24 standard (2-1/2-inch) muffin pan cups with paper liners.
Prepare 18oz of cake mix. Add 6 drops of blue food coloring to batter and adjust the color as desired. Spoon the batter into prepared muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. Bake according to your recipe directions. Let cupcakes cool in pans on wire racks for 5 minutes, then remove onto the wire racks to cool completely.
Meanwhile, combine gelatin and 1-1/3 cups boiling water in small bowl. Stir the mixture for 3 minutes, or until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Freeze mixture for 40 minutes, stirring often, or until partially set.
Pipe ring of blue icing around edge of each cupcake. Spoon 1 rounded tablespoon gelatin mixture onto each cupcake and you're done!
