There are a variety of different things that bring the fifties to any great party. Such things as the famous poodle skirt, jukebox, and the soda shop were all icons of the fifties and can be the centerpiece for any great fifties themed party. Your local party supply store will have even more décor to make this affair a great hit. Along with the great décor, why not create some awesome cool fifties cupcakes.
One of the most famous icons of the fifties era would be the shake shops. The shake shops of the fifties were famous for their malts and hamburgers. So, why not break part of that malt shop back with a realistic looking fifties style cupcake hamburger. To begin take each of the cupcakes and cut them into three different half’s then, shape each half to represent the look of a bun and a hamburger.
The next step in creating the fifties style hamburger cupcake would be to assemble the burger. Now this is not as easy they make it look in a fast food places. These will take a bit more work. Take two of the three pieces of each cupcake and frost with a light orange frosting. This will become the top and bottom of the bun. Next, take the middle of the cupcake and frost it with chocolate frosting to represent the burger.
Finally, it is time to add the condiments to the fifties style hamburger cupcakes. This is simply done by using fondant. For the lettuce, take a piece of green fondant and flatten it out to represent lettuce. Use dark green fondant to represent the pickles. The same goes with the ketchup with red fondant and yellow fondant for the mustard.
For a final unique touch to these unique fifties style hamburger cupcakes would be to add the fries. Let’s face it what is a hamburger without the fries? Take yellow fondant and wrap it around wafers to create these.
