Ideas for Fireman Centerpieces

What child doesn’t idolize a Fireman; that is why Fireman parties are so popular among the younger set, especially if they come complete with some ‘fiery’ handmade centerpieces.

A homemade centerpiece for a Fireman festivity could, in fact, allow young guests to come face to face with their idol. The host could take just about any material, whether it’s wood, plastic or paper mache, and create a Fireman figurine; complete with a warm smile, a red hat, a shiny yellow coat, and boots. And if any or all of these clothing items happen to be hand sewn, then all the better!

A handmade centerpiece for a Fireman party also could take on an edible form. A host could bake a cake in the form of a fire hat, perhaps one topped with thick strawberry butter cream icing or red cherries. Or she could bake a batch of cookies in the likeness of symbols typically associated with firefighting. These could include fire hats, hoses, boots, ladders, Dalmatians wearing fire hats, and of course fire engines. All of these treats could be served on a shiny platter at the center of the party table, for guests to admire and devour in equal measure.

Other homemade centerpieces at a Fireman party could also ‘serve’ as helpful party supplies. An overturned faux fire hat, for example, could double as a bowl that holds cookies, cupcakes, wafers, peanuts, popcorn, cheese curls, and other light party snacks. A blown glass ‘fire hat’ would make a great punch bowl, or the host could create a punch holder that resembles a fire engine—complete with a realistic looking hose to dispense the drinks.
