Philly Firecracker Recipe
Independence Day is the most patriotic holiday in America. Everyone loves to watch as the flag rises to the National Anthem, and then the great display of fireworks afterwards. However, before the fireworks comes the
Independence Day Theme Party. This is a great time for family and friends to gather around and begin the celebration early while eating some great food. To really set the mood for the firework display that is to come, serve Philly firecrackers.
Use this recipe to make Philly firecrackers.
½ Cup sour cream
½ Cup mayonnaise
1 green onion, chopped
2 Tablespoons of horseradish
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
8- 12 inch flour tortillas
1 pound of roast beef cut into 24 thin slices
2- 6 ounce packages of deli sliced sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups of shredded lettuce
Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, onion, horseradish, salt, and pepper together until well combined. Spread along half of the flour tortilla. Top with 3 slices of roast beef and 2 slices of cheese. Sprinkle evenly with shredded lettuce. Roll up the tortilla tightly and wrap with parchment paper. Tie the ends of the parchment paper with twine to look like the ends of firecrackers. Chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours. Cut the firecrackers in half width wise before serving. Arrange on a serving platter to look like firecrackers laid out on the platter.
