Karaoke Centerpieces
A karaoke party would be nothing without a microphone, so your homemade karaoke centerpieces should that microphones as the focal points. You can create your microphones with paper towel or toilet paper rolls. Paint them glossy black, then cover the top by gluing on a white Styrofoam ball. Take some cheesecloth and spray paint it black. When it dries, wrap some of it around the Styrofoam ball and glue it on. Metallic or silver colored wrapping paper can serve as various hardware on the mic, as well as silver buttons or thumb tacks.
Your handmade karaoke centerpieces will come in handy when it is a certain guest’s turn to sing. For the rest of the centerpiece, glitter and glam can be achieved with red and gold metallic gift wrapping paper and shreds. Make a backdrop to your microphone arrangement with a black foam board in any shape you would like, and add glow-in-the-dark stars or stickers to it. The foam board can be shaped like a guitar, a musical note, the top of a piano, or simply round off the sharp edges.
Use a black tablecloth to set off your homemade karaoke centerpieces, and sprinkle it with colorful glitter all around. Then watch the star quality come out in all of your guests, as they reach for the microphones when it’s their turn to sing.
