Patriotic candles for a homemade centerpiece must be protected from the wind so using jar candles are a great way to do this. Simply take choose empty glass jars (baby food jars work great) and make sure that they are clean and dry. Next take a funnel and layer red, white, and blue sand into the jar and then place a votive candle on the top of the sand.
