The psychedelic Sixties make a great theme for all parties and the obvious choice of dessert is Sixties cupcakes featuring the cute glimpses of the era. Finding ideas to decorate the Sixties themed cakes is pretty easy. Sixties represents the times of Hippies and Beatles, Peace and love and of course tie-dye. So any of these can be chosen as a decoration theme for the cupcakes baked for a Sixties theme party. To set the right mood, fetch party supplies like Hippie wigs, large goggles, beaded peace sign necklaces, groovy tableware, napkins and curtains.
Once the ambiance is created perfectly, it is time to bake the yummiest Sixties cupcakes for the party. Bake batches of chocolate, vanilla or lemon flavored cupcakes with your own recipe or using the readymade cake mixes. Bake the cakes until golden brown and set them aside to cool down. Now choose at least two three different theme for decoration and tie-dye has to be one of them. Take butter cream frosting, dark chocolate icing and green, blue or pink edible colors. Separate the frosting in three sections and make mix a different color with each section. Once the frostings are ready, get started with decorating the cupcakes.
For the tie-dye Sixties cupcakes, cover the surface of each cake with all three colors of frosting. Apply the frosting in random shapes to create the natural effects. Sprinkle some edible rainbow confetti on the cupcakes for finishing. Take another batch of cupcakes and cover them with light green icing. Draw a dark chocolate circle around the cupcake like a border around the green icing. Draw a vertical line through the circle to dissect it. Make an upside down ‘V’ at the lower part of the circle and the peace signed cupcake is ready. Let your creativity take over and the guests will simply adore the beautiful and delicious cupcakes!
