Surprise Party Surprise Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
Surprise parties are always fun to plan. It is exciting to see the look of surprise on the guest of honor’s face when they walk into the door and see that a great party was planned for them. The surprise does not have to end when the guest of honor comes through the door though. The food can also have their own little surprises in them for the guests. Surprise chocolate cupcakes are a great alternative to a birthday cake. The best thing about them is that none of the guests will suspect the surprise that is waiting for them when they bite into the cupcakes. Surprise chocolate cupcakes are fun and simple to make with the following recipe.
Cupcakes
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2/3 cup vegetable oil
2 cups water
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Surprise Filling
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl mix all of the cupcake ingredients until well blended. Place cupcake papers into a muffin pan. Fill each muffin paper 2/3 of the way full. Mix together the cream cheese, egg, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl until well blended. Pour 1 heaping teaspoon into the middle of each cupcake. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Although the chocolate surprise cupcakes do not need to be frosted, it will add to the surprise if they are. Use a cream cheese or chocolate frosting to top off each cupcake. None of the guests will suspect the surprise center when they look like regular chocolate cupcakes.
