First you need a good recipe for your Texas Holdem cupcakes. Here is one that will suit perfectly. There are actually two recipes whose taste suits the theme, the red velvet cupcakes and the pound cake cupcakes. Pound cake cupcakes are a bit well-known, so here we’ll describe the Red velvet recipe.
For the Red-Velvet Cupcake you need:
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup baking cocoa (powdered)
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 sticks butter at room temperature
• 5 large eggs
• 1 cup buttermilk (see note at bottom)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon red food coloring
Begin by adding the flour, cocoa, salt, baking soda and baking powder to a mixing bowl and sift them a couple of times. Next mix the butter and sugar together to make a light and fluffy texture. Add eggs to this mixture one at a time. Beat well after every addition. Add one-fourth of the dry mixture and one-fourth of the buttermilk alternately. Mix well and then add the vanilla and food color.
Bake the cupcakes for approximately 20mins. Once the cupcakes are ready, you can move to the decorating part.
The red base color of the cupcakes suits the Poker theme as it matches the color of a poker table. You can use cupcake picks and stickers related to the poker theme. You can get many other accessories from a party supplies shop to suit your theme.
