Yom Kippur Centerpieces
Yom Kippur, also known as Day of Atonement, is one of the holiest days of the year for the Jewish people and can be celebrated with homemade party supplies such a beautifully made centerpieces. Stained or painted glass vases, bowls, and cups make wonderful centerpieces for any occasion. Select desired stained glass patterns for Yom Kippur or other Jewish holiday such as Star of David, Shavei Zion Mandala, Star from Jacob, scrolls, Stars and Moon, Menorah etc. have children decorate their chosen glass item with the necessary materials to do so.
Centerpieces for Yom Kippur or other Jewish holidays include Shofars. Shofars and generally made from rams horns but since very few people have ram horns making them from birthday party horns. Take a birthday party horn and roll the cardstock around it and tape. Use a hole puncher to punch one hole at the bottom and at the top and tie the yarn. Have the children decorate the Shofar using glitter, stickers and various arts & crafts materials.
While not particularly Yum Kippur related, a long, thin vase with rocks on the bottom filled with water topped with a floating candle makes for an elegant homemade centerpiece. Choose a desired vase, clear, and place small rocks of various colors at the bottom fill the vase with water and add a white or blue floating candle. Add flowers or flower peddles to the vase as well. Select local flowers from ones garden or flowers specifically for this wonderful centerpiece.
